I was about 11 years old. I froze in my tracks and listened.

My folks were having a new house built just around the corner from where we lived and that night I was the one who went over to make sure it was all locked up for the night. While inside checking windows and doors I heard footsteps. The interior walls weren’t done yet and those footsteps echoed loudly throughout the darkened house.

As I listened – more footsteps! I got out of there and ran home as fast as I could.

I like to consider possibilities.

What if ?…

What if you, yes – you, experienced a healing through Christian Science? I have, and I’ll tell you, feeling the power of God make you better, you’d never be quite the same.

And what if you experienced healing this way again? Wouldn’t you start to think that there’s a system involved here, a method, a science?

The short answer is…. plenty!

So, how was weight loss accomplished through prayer ?

Healing in Christian Science is not faith healing through the human mind or a blind faith. It’s not New Age thinking or positive thinking. It’s not visualization, seeing yourself the way you want to be.

It’s seeing yourself as God sees you, as God made you.

This is Cathy Lynn Grossman’s synopsis of contributions from readers sharing their concept of God in her 12/19/2010 article in USA WEEKEND entitled, “How Americans imagine God.” She pointed out that the responses are personal and individual. “Still, one gleaming, common thread weaves throughout: For Americans today, God, quite simply, is love.” Her readers “describe a loving presence”.

So, how does Christian Science imagine God?

Christmas is a special time for me as a Christian Scientist, as it is for all Christians. It is a time to celebrate Jesus and what his coming upon earth means for us all. He is the Son of God. God is his Father. And God is our Father. Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father, which art in heaven…” Two very significant aspects of Jesus’ ministry stand out to me – love and healing.
