That was Mary Margaret of Corinth Baptist Church telling the story of Jonah from the Bible. In her conclusion (at 8:05 in the video) in her words, God says, “My love is great.” “And it is for all my creatures.”
“And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?” (Matthew 21:16 in the Bible).
In the story of Jonah, God preserves Jonah even though he was disobedient to God and fled. Jonah spent three days and nights in the belly of a great fish, but wasn’t he kept alive? And didn’t Jonah learn to obey God and to love as God loves? Also, God forgave the people of Nineveh and did them no harm even though they had been wicked. They listened and improved their ways. God doesn’t want us to suffer. God is a loving God, a forgiving God, a caring God. In Christian Science I’ve learned this from the Bible. I’ve learned that God’s will for us is always for life and health and everything good. And this is His loving will for all of His creatures – for all of us!
Have a very happy Thanksgiving, and remember, God’s love is great!
